What does filing late actually cost?

Three different offices, three different penalty rules, and they stack. Put your numbers in and this works out what you owe — and shows the arithmetic, so you or your auditor can check it. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

The fine band is set by paid-up capital, not authorised.

How many years you have not filed the Section 80 return.

Where these figures come from. Section 81(2) and 81(6) and Section 136A are from the Companies Act 2063 as consolidated to the 2081 amendment; Sections 117 and 119 from the Income Tax Act 2058; Section 29(1)(ja), 19(2) and 26(2) from the VAT Act 2052. Full workings and citations are in our guides to annual compliance, tax filing deadlines, VAT registration and closing a company.

Read the Section 81 note carefully. The Act sets the fine as an escalating ladder — a figure for the first three months, another for the next three, another for the following six, then an annual rate. This calculator reads that as cumulative, which is the natural reading of the wording and matches the “per year thereafter” figure. We have not seen an OCR worked example confirming it, so treat the total as an estimate and confirm with the Office before you rely on it. The fine is imposed on the director personally, not on the company.

Not sure how many years you are behind?

Send us the company name or registration number. We will check what is actually outstanding at the OCR and tell you the real figure — not an estimate.
